Movie narrates the story that’s happening around a village named Tumbbad.
Directors Rahi Anil Barve and Anand Gandhi took 6 years to make this movie
The movie starts with MurthyDevi (Mother of all Gods) and her first son Hasthar. Hasthar is greedy and selfish by nature. He took over all gold from her mother and tried to take all the food grains. But upon the resistance from other god & goddesses, Murthy Devi hid him in her womb by leaving a curse that no-one should say his name again instead of killing.
Background score is very important for a suspense/thriller/horror movie. It actually can make or break the movie. For Tumbbad, it’s Jesper Kyd, the same man behind Assasin’s creed and Hitman soundtrack.
Ancestors of Tumbbad village head built a temple and performed rituals on the name of Hasthar which made god angry and cursed the village to rain heavily ever after.
Throughout the movie, you can see its raining all the time. You know what, its real ..!!!
Tumbaad
In the village, Vinayak (Son of Village lord & legal heir) was intensively looking for the inherited treasure. And he strongly believes that his cursed great-grandmother has the clues. But after squaring up with her cursed ancestral grandmother, Vinayak found a way to treasure. But he realises that he has to deal with a evil spirit in order to get his hand on treasure. But can Vinayak evade from evil spirit and get his hands on treasure?
