Dalgona Coffee is a recent TikTok trend. It gained enormous popularity from every corners of the world after people starting posted their DIY coffee making videos. It become the second biggest food trend amid of this Corona Virus pandemic. And it’s still trending in East Asian countries.

There’s been many arguments about its origin, but many say that it has its footsteps from Asian countries just because of its similarities. But, the spike in popularity is just because of its appearance in an popular Korean TV show. When Korean actor Jun II woo traveled to Macau, tasted the coffee and gave the name Dalgona because of similar taste with Korean soft candy Dalgona. Most interesting part is that, the recipe is damn easy. Since then most of the TikTokers, YouTubers and Instagrammers started posting their Dalgona DIY recipe from all over the world.

While coming to recipe, like everyone, even I tried to make the drink by following the recipe. It’s quite simple. Equal proportions of instant coffee powder, hot water and sugar are beaten till we get froth texture and mixed it with hot/cold milk upon your wish. You can add ice cubes in milk if you wish.

Dalgona coffee is also referred as 400x cofee, because we have to stir atleast 400 times to get proper froth texture.

Recipe in brief:

Instant coffee powder, Hot water, Sugar and Hot/Cold Milk
Equal proportions of instant coffee powder, sugar and hot water are beaten vigorously to get the froth texture. Once you’re satisfied with texture, add the texture on top of Hot/Cold milk. You can add ice cubes to the cold milk if you wish.
